Prep
Wash with the charcoal face wash and warm water. It lifts the day's dust and softens stubble before the blade goes anywhere near it.
Shave or shape
Work the cream into a proper lather, go with the grain on the first pass, and rinse the blade every couple of strokes.
Seal
Alcohol-free balm on the face, a few drops of beard oil worked down to the skin. That's it.

Three to four drops for a short beard, six to eight for anything past the chin. Warm it in your palms and work it down to the skin, not just through the hair.
Usually it's a dull blade and shaving against the grain. Swap the blade every 5–7 shaves, lather properly, and go with the growth on the first pass.
