Setting Up Your Puja Thali

A simple, traditional arrangement — every item below is in our Pooja Essentials collection.

Light the deep first

Fill the brass diya with ghee or til oil, place it to the right of the deity and light it before anything else begins.

Arrange the thali

Set roli, akshat (unbroken rice), a small kalash of water, fresh flowers, incense and prasad clockwise around the thali.

Ring, then offer

Ring the ghanti to begin, offer the incense and flowers, apply tilak and place the prasad before the deity.

Aarti & prasad

Circle the aarti thali clockwise, share the prasad with everyone present, and let the diya burn down on its own.

Metals & Care

How to keep brass, copper and silver-plated pieces bright through every festive season.

Brass diyas & idols
Clean with lemon and salt or tamarind paste, rinse, dry fully before storing
Copper kalash & lota
Lemon-and-salt scrub weekly; never use steel wool on the surface
Silver-plated items
Dry cotton cloth only — no water, no liquid polish, it strips the plating
German silver
Tarnish-resistant; a soft cloth and mild soap is all it needs
Terracotta diyas
Soak in water for 20 minutes before first use so they hold oil far longer
Marble & resin idols
Dust with a dry brush; detergents dull the finish permanently
Fairy & string lights
Indoor-rated, 3m–10m lengths, warm white, BIS-marked adapter
Storing after a festival
Wrap each piece in butter paper and keep dry — never plastic, it traps moisture
Artisan-made
From Moradabad, Khurja & Jaipur clusters
24-hour dispatch
So it reaches you well before the muhurat
Gift-ready boxes
Festive packaging on every single order

The brass diyas arrived two days before Diwali and looked stunning on my rangoli. Genuinely premium quality for the price.

Ordered the kandeel set for my balcony — the packaging was gift-worthy and nothing was chipped. Will buy every year now.

COD made it so easy for my mother to order. The fairy lights are warm and bright, exactly like the photos.

Yes. Our brass and terracotta pieces come from artisan clusters in Moradabad, Khurja and Jaipur, so small variations in finish and weight are normal — that is the mark of a handmade piece, not a defect.
