Unbox the same day
Open the box the day it arrives, lift out the packing paper and let the plant breathe in bright indirect light.
Water, then wait
Give it a light watering on day one, then let the top inch of soil dry before you water again. Overwatering kills far more houseplants than neglect ever does.
Find its spot
Most indoor plants want bright indirect light — roughly 3 to 4 feet from a window. Skip harsh afternoon sun through glass for the first two weeks.
Repot after three weeks
Let it acclimatise first, then move it into a pot one size bigger with fresh potting mix and a proper drainage hole.
